Report: IOC Called Skier For Sample During CFDA Awards

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Apparently nothing gets in the way of the International Olympic Committee and its drug-testing program.

The IOC made a surprise visit on Monday to U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn while she was attending the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards at Lincoln Center, according to the New York Post.

Vonn, in a floor-length Cynthia Rowley gown, had to “pee in a cup” when IOC officials called and told the skier “they needed access to the event to perform a drug test immediately,” the Post reported.

The 28-year-old passed and was told to “have fun” by a tester, according to the paper.

Vonn is recovering from surgery after tearing two ligaments — the ACL and MCL — in her right knee last month. In a Feb. 6 statement, Vonn said she would “work as hard as humanly possible to be ready to represent my country” at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Vonn recently made headlines for acknowledging her relationship with golfer Tiger Woods.
