NEW YORK (WFAN) — One for the thumb! Craig Carton has done it again!
The co-host of WFAN’s “Boomer & Carton” show won the Pulse of the People Award for an unprecedented fifth time on Monday.
“Wow!” Carton said. “It never gets old. Frankly, I had a great year representing the thoughts and the feelings of the average person and fan.”
Here’s CBS Sports’ Jim Rome with the call on behalf of the Pulse of the People Award committee:
Carton beat out four other finalists: co-host Boomer Esiason, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, NFL analyst Phil Simms, and Mike Puma of the New York Post.
“Boomer shock-jocked his way (out of it),” Carton said during Monday’s show. “Christie had no shot, obviously, after — whether he was involved or not — the whole bridge fiasco. Traffic. People hate traffic. Traffic is bad. (Boomer’s) whole thing, you know, you got a little crazy. … I was controversy-free this year, which was a good spot for me.”
