Police Release Sketch Of Newborn Found Dead At Monmouth County Recycling Center

FARMINGDALE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey State Police have released a sketch of a newborn whose headless remains were found in the trash at a Monmouth County recycling center last year.

The body of the baby girl was found by an employee at the ReCommunity Recycling facility in Farmingdale on Nov. 11.

A search of the trash uncovered the infant's head, two blood-stained blouses and a shopping bag from a store in Orange. The shirts and bag are believed to be tied to the mother.

An autopsy did not determine the cause and manner of death. However, police said evidence suggests the full-term infant girl was not stillborn and breathed before she died.

An FBI expert believes the child's mother tossed her in the trash and may have been trying to hide her pregnancy.

There is no evidence of the mother being a victim of foul play, but the possibility has not been ruled out, officials said.

Parishioners at a Howell church named the baby Emma Grace and will hold a funeral for her on Saturday.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Mounmouth County Crime Stoppers.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the identity of the baby's mother.
