First Lady Michelle Obama To Visit 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to "The Late Show."

"It's always an honor to have the First Lady," said Stephen Colbert. "Better than that, it's always fun!"

The First Lady will be a guest on the show on Monday, Sept. 28 to discuss two education initiatives.

"Let Girls Learn" aims to help 62 million girls around the world attend school and complete their educations; "Reach Higher" aims to inspire every student in America to complete their higher education, according to a press release from CBS.

Colbert made his debut as host of "The Late Show" last Tuesday, taking over for David Letterman who signed off as host in May after a run with CBS that dated back to 1993.

The first two weeks of shows saw a number of high-profile celebrities, politicians and musical guests, starting with actor George Clooney."The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'' airs weeknights on CBS at 11:35 p.m.
