LISTEN: Francesa Says Yankees Should Be Sellers 'If They're Doing What Makes Sense'
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- There's little hope that the Yankees will turn their season around in a meaningful way and should deal their assets before the trade deadline, WFAN's Mike Francesa said Tuesday.
The Yankees are 46-46 after winning their last two games. They sit 7½ games behind the American League East-leading Orioles and are five games out for the second wild-card spot.

"The bottom line is ... I don't care what they do here this next week," Francesa said at the start of his show. "If they're looking to the long-term, if they're doing what makes sense, they should be sellers. This team is not equipped to do anything out of the ordinary this year and will fall short of any goals."
Francesa added that the formula they used in a 2-1 win over the Orioles on Monday and a 3-1 victory over the Red Sox on Sunday is not sustainable.
"They've got to get to the seventh inning with a one-run lead, and they've got to get there having held these teams down 'cause they can't score any runs," Francesa said. "Even when they win, they don't score any runs. So it is a very, very finite way, a very narrow tunnel through which the Yankees are winning games right now.

"You've almost played a hundred games into this season. If you're going to make a move, you make a move. And right now, if you think it's a big deal to be .500, there are ... 10 teams in the American League with .500 or better records."
