“I got a call at home saying, ‘It looks like the war is going to start tonight,’” he recalls.

Back Stories: Rich Lamb Comes Up With Gulf War Parade

Fishkin contacted local families with service members and watched the situation unfold with them.

“As I nervously watched the bombs start falling, I was watching with the families at the time and talking to them and bringing that to our listeners,” he says. “Being there with the families helped bring it home for everyone.”
