Just because you're single on Valentine's Day doesn't mean you can't have fun. Here are the best ways to celebrate this "hallmark holiday" in New York City. By Carly Petrone.

Stop in on Sunday, February 12 for a Sex and Chocolate Happy Hour starting at 4 p.m. They'll be serving up artisanal chocolates, Babeland Bubbly, as well as a lesson on how to incorporate your favorite candy into bedroom activities. Stop by WORD in Brooklyn for an evening of romance starting at 7 p.m. Romance authors Sarah MacLean, Maya Rodale, and more will be on a panel to discuss their work and what it's like to write those steamy scenes. There will also be games and an open bar until 9 p.m. Can't make it to Brooklyn? The store in Jersey City will also be hosting an Erotica Panel discussion with authors Rachel Kramer Bussel and BWE Volume 2 contributors Abigail Ekue, Stella Watts Kelley, Vierra Lai, and Annabeth Leong. Find out what makes a story sexy, how to get published, and the cultural impact of writing stories that reflect a wide range of women's experiences. Event starts at 7:30 p.m. Both Galentine's Day events are free.

The American Jewish Historical Society is taking a look at modern love this Valentine's Day with "Bubby: Kosher Love Advice in Unkosher Times." This photo series, a collaboration between Jewish matchmaking app Bubby and fashion brand Unkosher Market, invites singles searching for love to get some dating advice from real-life "bubbies." Opening night kicks off with a DJ and refreshments on Feb. 9. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors and $18 at the door. Click here for more.
