You can hear the subway roaring above you at Trophy Bar on Broadway. Snag a dram of small batch bourbon to go along with your pitcher of Kelso Nut Brown Lager ($21). They also have some nice signature cocktails and a well-appointed food menu. The homemade chili and sausage sandwich stand out on the menu as some of the best.
An extensive whiskey menu and great American beers give Post Office Bar an easy edge as one of the best beer and shot joints in all of Brooklyn. We like a nice Elijah Craig 18 yr old, or a Russell's Reserve 10 yr old, to go along with a cold American lager. Oysters can also be consumed at your own pace here.

What do you get when you combine quality drinks with entertaining games? Barcade. With seasonal tap beers like Harpoon Winter Warmer and Victory Donnybrook Stout, you'll immediately feel warmer during these long winter nights. Their happy hours allow you $1 off of their beers and well drinks, and of particular interest to us is their Fisherman's Brew and Jim Beam shot special for $8. Let us know if you beat their highest score in Asteroids - a mere 2,222,240 points.
Want more bar games? Come to Full Circle Bar where you can play skee-ball for free on Thursdays, and guzzle down big 24oz. Genny's (Genesee Beer) for $5. We like their many shot pairings, like the $3 Tabasco + Shot, or the $5 Tecate + Tequila. Need some fuel for the night? Thursday night frequenters are also treated to free dogs and jumbo pretzels. Classic New York.
