MANORHAVEN, NY (WCBS 880) – The feral cat problem is so bad in Manorhaven, the Board of Trustees is entertaining a TNR program. That’s trap, neuter, and release.

It would allow the animals to live, but no longer reproduce.

LISTEN: WCBS 880 L.I. Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reports

It’s something Will says needs to be done:

“I’ve seen people feed them right here on the street. They’re all over,” Will told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.

Xinachs asked, “…the idea of actually having a mobile van come in and treat them?”

Will answered, “It’s a good idea. It’s a great idea.”

Xirinachs followed up, “Stop them from reproducing?”

Will’s reply: “Absolutely.”

Others call the scratchy issue a man-made problem that could be solved if irresponsible pet owners would just stop abandoning their animals.

I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA. I WAS ABLE WITH THE HELP OF 2 OTHER PEOPLE MANAGE AN OUT OF CONTROL SITUATION IN RONKONKOMA. I COULD NOT EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW MANY CATS WE HAD.. BUT WE GOT THEM ALL FIXED AND RESCUED AND ADOPTED OUT ALL THE KITTENS. YES IT TOOK 2 YEARS..BUT COMMUNICATION, COMPASSION AND DEDICATION CAN GET IT DONE. WE NOW DOWN TO ONLY12 AND THEY ARE ALL FIXED.

Here’s a simple solution that does not involve cruelty to animals: Just euthanize the stupid c\/nts that insists on feeding strays until their population explodes and wipes out local wildlife.

It’s a win win. The strays won’t over populate. And hopefully, we’ll take out the stupid c\/nts before they’d spawned and further infest the gene pool with “nathans”.

Its a good idea. If that is actually being done. Some people believe it may just be a ruse and the cats are being destroyed. They started doing that in my condo community in NJ.
