New Housing In Bayshore Targets First-Time Buyers
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Some are calling new affordable downtown homes in Bayshore, Long Island's future.
Ground has been broken for dozens of new downtown affordable homes for first-time buyers.
The development to be known as Cortland Squares is part of The Long Island Housing Partnership Project.

WCBS 880 Reporter Mike Xirinachs spoke with James Britts, VP of the Project.
"It's been years in the making. Hopefully, in the next two years we will have forty new homeowners in downtown Bayshore. It's great development, smart growth downtown development that will create forty all affordable homes," said Britts.
The project is designed for young families known as smart growth development and is aimed at stopping or at least the slowing the Island's brain drain.
