The unemployed version of Derek Jeter showed up to Joe Torre’s gala in NYC Thursday night with some interesting things to say. “It’d be nice to get it over with so you don’t have to answer any more questions,” said Jeter of his contract situation. Cashman, meanwhile, said the negotiations were in their “infancy stages.”

In Mets news, Carlos Beltran has finally come to his senses. Beltran said Thursday that he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if New York came to him with a deal in place.

The Jets and Giants are both in action this Sunday. The Jets take on Craigie’s (least) favorite head coach, Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, the Giants are at hosting the terrible Cowboys at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

All that, Al’s new song, NFL picks, Michael Boley calls in, Donnie Walsh in-studio, Pat Summerall in-studio, and more on today’s radio program…

Shame on your show Boomer,I am an RN and I have been emailing your foundation and tried to talk with you about a major problem about a young boy’s medical and housing problem. when I called your show. I was told nobody cares. I guessi YOUR son has nothing to worry about with a rich father. I wasn’t even asking for a donation. I just wanted you to call a foundation that has turned this boy’s world upside down and made his environment dangerous. JUST A SIMPLE CALL IS ALL I WANTED. However I guess nobody cares like your call screener said.
