Dept. Of Corrections Asking Officers To Report ASAP

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Department of Correction is asking that all uniformed staff report to work as soon as possible, regardless of normal schedule.

If officers are not on duty or delayed by weather conditions, they should report for work, said Charmine Stein, Deputy Commissioner for Public Information at the DoC.

"We urge all Department of Correction officers to report to work today no matter what shift you're usually assigned to -- come in any time," Stein said.

Officers should contact the department if they have any questions or need assistance with the commute.

"We have shuttle buses running from different points," Stein said.
