I thought the designer was making a very important ‘nod’ to the Chinese using a fabric in ‘Chinese Red’. What a beautiful look!

I would like to have seen her in sleeves, as well. Can she have two?

Honey, I am in the rag trade, and I keep track of this. I care that she pimps American fashion designers, and so should you; it’s about focusing on US business. Does the President drive around in a Mercedes? Is Air Force 1 built by Airbus? Does Queen Elizabeth wear US made/designed clothes? Will Kate Middleton wear a French wedding dress? “No” to all those questions. The first lady represents the US and should wear US designers, particularly on high profile occasions like this. And YES, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton only wore US designers.

  5. Trishe says:

She wears that color so well….AND Who CARES who designed the dress.

She is an ordinary looking lady; but her style, makeup, personality, intelligence and grace make her an extraordinary First Lady. I adore this couple. They make us proud. This dress wouldn’t look good on every woman; but it is fabulous on her ! She can use any designer she likes. She doesn’t use many Black designers either, if any. But that’s her right.

  7. R.Mcqueen says:

Why is it , anything she wears are says someone has a comment ! She can wear any designer she wants when Bush was in the white house no one can who Mrs. Bush designer were and they weren’t all americans so get over it we have a black president and first lady and she can wear what and who’s designs she want. get a life and worry about what you buy and its not all american made .

  8. Glen says:

Alexander McQueen is not an American designer. She should be pushing US fashion.

Amazing dress, it suits her perfectly.

      I agree

I think it’s hideous. She also has her usual disgusted and disinterested look on her face. I think she and her wardrobe are quite unattractive.

Incredibly stunning! The color and print in general look absolutely beautiful on her, and also fit the occasion. The hair, makeup and accessories are spot-on. WOW!
