NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Before Westminster crowns best in show over at Madison Square Garden, across the street at the New Yorker hotel, there's a chance for regular old dogs to strut their stuff.

This Friday is the very first Big City, Little Dog Fashion Show.
"The dogs can come naked, if they like," says producer Elly McGuire, who calls it, "New York City's biggest puppy play date."
Her very own Yorkshire Terrier, Shnootie, will take to the catwalk.

"I think their tenacity and their personality is just hysterical," she says. "[Little dogs], they think they're big dogs... They think they're a Great Dane, but they're this little nine-pound or five-pound dog."
She promises a lineup of local celebrities.

The fashion show is a fundraiser for Angel on a Leash, which trains therapy dogs for sick children and seniors.

McGuire says, "These kids really are enduring so much and when those dogs walk in, they just light up and, you know, the dog's tail is wagging and the kids just giggle and squeal and it's like all their problems melt away."
