NY Man's Trial In Harvard Dorm Shooting Set To Begin
WOBURN, Mass. (AP) -- A New York man is set to go on trial in the 2009 fatal shooting of a Cambridge man inside a Harvard dormitory.
Prosecutors allege that 20-year-old Blayn Jiggetts was one of three New York City men who shot 21-year-old Justin Cosby during what authorities described as a drug robbery gone bad. Neither Cosby nor the three suspects were Harvard students.
Jiggetts and Jabrai Jordan Copney are charged with first-degree murder and other counts. Jason Aquino is charged with being an accessory after the fact of armed robbery and carrying a firearm without a license. Brittany Smith, who was Copney's girlfriend, was also charged with being an accessory after the fact. All have pleaded not guilty.
Jiggetts' trial is scheduled to begin Friday in Woburn Superior Court.
