NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Chris Brown may need some anger management after the singer reportedly threw a fit in his dressing room following an appearance on “Good Morning America” Tuesday.

1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria with the details

The 22-year-old singer apparently flipped out after host Robin Roberts persistently asked him about former girlfriend Rihanna, the trouble they had and whether he’d seen her since a restraining order against him was lifted last month.

The singer tried, unsuccessfully, to steer the focus of the interview back to his new ablum “F.A.M.E.”

“I think I’m past that in my life,” he said. “Today is the album day, that’s what I’m focusing on.”

“This album is what I want people to really get into, definitely this album is what I want them to talk about and that other stuff that happened two years ago,” Brown insisted after Roberts asked him how he was able to put the Rihanna incident behind him.

Once backstage, Brown reportedly screamed, smashed a window and ripped off his shirt before storming out of the building.

The Associated Press reports security was called but the police weren’t.

Following the alleged incident, Brown posted a message on Twitter saying, “All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I’m so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!”

He followed up by saying, “Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!! Key Word ( music) !!! Love y’all.”

ABC News issued a statement saying,” As always, we asked questions that are relevant and newsworthy.”

Brown had performed his latest hit “Yeah 3X” but left the studio without doing a second performance for the ABC website.

Later Tuesday morning, workers were seen replacing the broken window at the Times Square studio.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna.

He is scheduled to perform on the elimination round of “Dancing With The Stars” next week.

well just maybe if he would have just walked away the way “normal people do from an arugement then he wouldn,t have had that problem at all…..and the media wouldn,t have to keep asking him those questions cause there wouldn,t be anything to ask…plain and simple….

  2. El Palo Gordo says:

ohhh come on people!!! if he really needed counceling i think he would have body slamed Robin Roberts and gave her a hulk hogan leg drop (lol) in front of everybody in the studio show for asking a dumm stupid question about Rhianna that had nothing to do with his album release. but he did he hold his anger until he got back stage …and thats when he assaulted “the window”…and a couple of other items in the dressing room …lol

leave that guy alone, we may not see it in his face but am pretty sure he is paying the dear price for putting his hand on a woman for purposes other than caressing..

I don’t condone his past domestic violence issues but he was on the show to promote an album and she continuously baited him. She kept picking at a scab to see what it would do. I think he maintained himself quite well during the remainder of the interview and while he should not have lost his cool in the dressing room, I can totally understand why he got upset. He served the consequences given to him by the court, now let him move on.

  5. Capt Lou says:

Take the kid out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the kid. I still think he’s nothing more then a punk!

  6. sandbagged says:

What really happened is that Chris Brown was eating some spaghetti prior to the interview and Robin Roberts called him an animal.

  7. Jay says:

This is my personal opinion. First of all Im so sick and tired of you guys callig him a woman beater when you dont even know what H*ll happened for the situation to lead to that situation but he was still wrng and I agree he does need counseling. But for Robin Roberts to sit her ballhead ass there and disrespect him on national t.v. just to build her public image was dead wrong for her. By the way, Chris Brown is not a thug. Go to New York and tell me if you still think he’s a thug but most of the people posted their opinions is nothing but haters anywayz so it matters not of what you say bcuz he still making his coins.

  8. Jeff R says:

I have no idea who Brown or Rihanna are!!

  9. New Yorker 4E! says:

    He looks terrible!!!!

please look at the interview before you talk when some one say to you lets don’t talk aabout some thing you should listen

  11. Rhianna says:

Distruction of property, i would say that that is a violation of his probation. Send him back to court.

  12. Harsh Reality says:

I dont get it….why did Robin Roberts as about Rhiana? was Rhiana in the album? was Rhiana featured in the ulbum? did Rhiana help write the album? does any one here get the hint? who in their right mind would ask a question that is going to open up old scars???

i thought he was promoting his new album and instead people are putting him down again. how did you guys expect him to act…..

    1. Joanna Blain says:

Please that is no excuse to behave that way. It just simply show that he did not learn anything from his experience with his anger issues.

    2. Appalled says:

Harsh Reality I was thinking the same thing, why did Robin bring up Rihanna’s name. Rihanna is not involved with the new album. Whatever really happened between Chris brown and Rihanna took place TWO YEARS Ago give US a BREAK! Whatever happened to second changes! What happened to him was not journalism it is EXPLOITATION or kicking someone when they are down. Great reporting!

      1. DaTruth says:

thank you “appalled”… least am not the only one wondering why Robin Roberts brought up Rhianna which she had nothing to do with CB’s album or his music,Dumm A$$ reporter…lol

and as for miss ‘JOANNA BLAIN” . please give the guy a break he did the crime and now hes is serving the time, so get over it. and as for his anger issues i know or a fact he learned something (not to say that he is totally rehab),. but anyways….let me bring up some of your past relationships that hurt you the most and have a million people asking you what happened over and over again and lets see if you can take the stress and not brake something or just get upset period…..see what i mean. stop hatting!!! 🙂

  13. Franky says:

So what’s new. A typical kid who still misrepresents his role in a society. He went Incredible Hulk. Let alone he can’t even handle a question that literally changed his life. For the better? You got your answer here.

He’s a kid who went ballistic on an issue that knows he will be known for in the future. After you beat a girl like that the only thing you should talk about who is going to take you seriously.

I don’t think he needs counseling, I think he needs a good kick in the teeth.

  14. dp says:

It’s all hype…it is a plan to get his name out there and promote his album.

I think he has played this pefectly….. It’s all over the internet…and the press fell for it hook line and sinker…how pathetic.

He is still undeserving of anything since he is a lady beater…

    1. Smell the coffee says:

the press was in on it: win-win.

  15. nyc says:

What happened to class entertainers ? Why do people buy these thugs music ? Sad violent times !

  16. Lynne says:

Did you see the gay “wings” on his shoes when he was “singing”???!! OMG!! My 6 year old would love to have them on her fairy princess dress up shoes!!!!

  17. MIKENYC says:

Robin Roberts did not ask Tiger Woods questions pertaining to his personal life. Meanwhile, Chris needs to contract interviews. That will place a gag on random questioning.

    1. rachelveronica says:

Really? She didn’t ask Tiger Woods about his affairs?

  18. Appalled says:

My dad always said a woman can ruin a man’s life. I don’t like Chris Brown. He is loose cannon and needs counseling. However, he was there to promote his new album, what does Rihanna have anything to do with the new album? The reporter was wrong to bring up Rihanna, shame on you for trying to increase ratings. I was surprise by Robin.

    1. CSI says:

He’s been in the game long enough to know that it was going to come up. Doesn’t matter what kind of reporter they are. They will bring out the dirt. Thats there job. Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!

      1. Appalled says:

True people will always try to exploit other people’s imperfections.

  19. James Ebron says:

Let he with out sin be the first too throw a stone!
It’s between ,Chris, Rihanna; And God! Man should
    back out!!!

    1. Leroy Jenkins says:

Yea, that’s a great way to handle this! We should all just back out and let Chris do whatever he wants (beat up women, smash windows when he’s mad, etc.) because God has it all under control. Great logic!

  20. Educated says:

Watched the interview. The questioning was pretty soft, and he brought up the subject again with talk of forgiving his “enemies”. This guy wants free publicity for his new CD. If he’s not man enough, and mature enough to handle some basic softball quations about how he beat a major female celebrity, too bad for him. He comes across as an immature boy, in no way a man. I can’t believe people stick up for this jerk, much less buy his “music.”

  21. edward says:

The American public is the enabler in these situations.Their insatiable desire for any sort information and the reporting of every breath celebrities take feeds into this.
Quite simply, when these people act out they should face the same consequences as anyone else and the best disciplinary action would be to ignore them.
It seems when some stars reach a lull in their careers, some sociopathic act moves them back into the spotlight and the front pages of the tabloids.
What is wrong with this picture???

  22. Tricia says:

What was the arrangement for Chris Brown to appear on GMA in addition to his music? Beforehand, aren’t matters agreed upon of what to ask and what’s taboo regarding the interview portion? Robin pushed too far to get a rise out of the star. Anything for shock value, huh…I’m not a fan of Chris Brown, never was, even before the Rihanna turmoil. But, knowing you are interviewing someone with a short fuse, and you continue to push and bully, then expect the worse. But, that’s probably just what Robin and GMA wanted for the sake of ratings? Chris Brown still needs anger mgmt guidance big time; but, in his defense, SHAME ON YOU, GMA!!! And, thank God no one got hurt outside from the flying glass.

    1. none says:

      Tricia, I totallly Agree… 🙂

    2. Chucky Brown says:

If you consider that bullying, then you don’t watch much television. Or you’re not paying attention or somethng, I don’t know.

  23. GREG says:

    1. none says:

      His Music!!! DUH!!!

  24. J says:

A little man trying to be a big man. LOL! YOU have a long, long way to go and mature!

  25. JuJu says:

He should have expected that hard-line questioning. It’s a shame he lost his cool because that is a part of redeeming one’s self: self-restraint, being humble, and accepting that as part of the consequences.

On the flip side, it definitely was messed up for the host to do what she did. There were probably more than enough hints to back off given to her. And that’s where she and society has it wrong. Although there is criticism for one to have self-restraint, there too is the border line that should not be crossed to start the mess in the first place. Static: Don’t start none, won’t be none.

    Good luck to you CB!

    1. none says:

      Love it!! 🙂

  26. dp says:

Who gives a FLYING F*CK about this guy…really…
This was probably done to drum up some news about him and his album anyways…
I saw him on some show last week and he was horrible…
    really cheezy and corny…

  27. DD says:

I mean “support” sorry for the typo

  28. DD says:

I will still report his music. I wish everyone would leave him alone, the past is the past. People act like their backyard is clean when they also have baggage and drama in their lives also. So all that are on here bashing Chris Brown, smdh, don’t act like you are angels cause you are not.

    1. none says:

I know. People are always judging like there PERFECT!!! We all no.. No one is Perfect!!

    2. joe smoothie says:

Who is this chris brown you speak of is it long lost cousin of charlie

  29. Trig Palin says:

His management failed to set the parameters for the interview. Noone else’s fault.

  30. BIGPOPPANYC says:

Leave this Kid Alone, he paid the price for his faults and tried to move on, yet Robin Roberts went the route of muckracking after he said no questions on Rihanna. Two people are Roberts for bad journalism amd Chris for falling into the trap and losing his cool.

  31. NJ Resident says:

time for Chris Brown to do some time behind bars

  32. Who's Your Daddy says:

This kid is such a loser!!!!!!!!!!

    1. none says:
