Highest Reward In Suffolk County's History Offered By Crime Stoppers In Gilgo Beach Homicides

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the deaths of eight people whose bodies were found along Ocean Parkway.

The reward is now up to $25,000, the largest ever offered in Suffolk County Crime Stoppers' history.

Since December, police have been investigating a possible serial killer after the remains of four women, Megan Waterman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy and Amber Lynn Costello, were found near Gilgo Beach.

Police found four more bodies in March and April.

On Saturday, family and friends of four of the victims gathered at Gilgo Beach for a vigil.

So far, no suspects have been identified in the deaths.
