Volunteers Of America Helps Homeless Children Get School Supplies, Backpacks

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- From June 27 until July 24, all Duane Reade and CitiHabitats locations in New York City are accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies, as part of a charity initiative by the Volunteers of America.

The group is once again kicking off their Operation Backpack campaign.

Last year, they provided new, filled backpacks to thousands of children, and this year they hope to help even more children in homeless shelters.
