B&C Morning Show: Cal Ripken Jr. Talks Jason Bay, Jose Reyes, Davey Johnson

The legendary Cal Ripken Jr. (now a TBS analyst) called into the show on Monday and discussed all kinds of things baseball-related.

After the excuse that was used by Jason Bay and Josh Hamilton over the weekend, Craig picks Ripken's brain about the true effects of having light blue eyes while playing day games. As you may recall, it took a little bit more than some squinting eyes to keep Mr. Ripken out of the lineup during his playing days.

Boomer and Craig also got Cal's take on the All-Star Game voting, especially in respect to Jose Reyes. One could argue that Reyes is the MVP of the National League so far this season, yet he still trails Troy Tulowitzki in the fan voting for the ASG starters.

Ripken also sheds his thoughts on the managerial situation in Washington. Find out what he has to say about the Nationals in the wake of Jim Riggleman's surprising resignation followed by the hiring of Davey Johnson as the new skipper.

And we also get to know Cal Ripken Jr., the man. He gives us some insight into some prized possessions and memorabilia he's collected over the years, including a strange gift his father gave to him before he started his professional career.
