Police Rangers Respond To NJ Bear Sighting
WAYNE, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A nearly 500-pound bear is up a tree on Black Oak Ridge Road near Jackson Avenue in Wayne.
A large crowd has gathered to peer at the bear that, so far, hasn't been aggressive. They're hoping he eventually comes down and wanders back into the nearby woods.
"Right now it's up a tree, looking down at those of us who are looking up at it, and the police are standing around. I don't know if they're waiting to have an animal control officer come or not. It's a stalemate. It's bear versus people," said neighbor Kathy Gibbons.
