NEW CITY, NY (WCBS 880) - Susan and Martin Sher of New City are among those on their fifth day without power since Saturday's freak snowstorm.

They have a message for Orange & Rockland.

"Where are you?" said Susan.

"We haven't seen any sign of them," said Martin.

There are no utility trucks in their neighborhood, just one orange cone near some downed wires.

More and more public officials are growing frustrated with O&R's response and what they call a lack of communication.

Some have called for an investigation.

O&R says out-of-state crews have been brought in and 90 percent of customers should have electricity by tomorrow.

In the meantime, the Shers are making do.

"The library has had heat since almost day one. So, we've spent a lot of time at the library. The parking lot is mobbed at the library," Martin told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams.

Five days after the storm, thousands of Con Edison customers in Westchester County are still waiting for power, or at least answers about when power will be restored.

"It's very frustrating, especially when you make a phone call and they give you a global answer that you know is not true," said Rich Pastilha, who lives in Yonkers.

Con Ed is offering free ice and Pastilha was in Greenburgh to grab some.

"It's a band-aid for a much bigger problem," he told WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell.

After roughing it for three nights, his family, which includes three children, is now staying with his in-laws.
