Gotham Gossipist: Bethenny Frankel Talk Show Bombs Before Airing
If you're feeling the crunch of the economic downturn, you're not alone. Even celebrities are having a hard time getting a job. Take Bethenny Frankel for example. She was a Real Housewife before she was ever married, a best selling author, she has an exercise DVD (albeit one where someone else does the exercise and she makes humorous commentary), and sold her Skinnygirl Margarita recipe for $120 million--the woman is certainly has an impressive resume, but now she can't get a measly talk show in the works.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Frankel was in talks with Warner Brothers subsidiary Telepictures to host a new talk show, she even had backing from ratings giant Ellen DeGeneres, but when the show failed to sell in syndication Telepictures dropped Frankel. According to The New York Post, a source close to Telepictures claimed, "Several stations expressed interest, but there's probably not room for [Bethenny's show] this year."
Bethenny fans will have to drown their tears Frankel's 38 calorie margarita until the willowy mogul can come up with a new scheme for entertainment domination.
