At a hearing of the county legislature’s public safety committee, Thomas Spota testified on Thursday that he disagrees with Police Commissioner Richard Dormer’s theory that a serial killer dumped all 10 corpses near Gilgo Beach.
Spota said the forensic evidence indicates there was more than one killer.
Dormer has said he believes that all the victims were linked to the sex trade, but the district attorney says investigators know little about one set of remains.READ MORE: Jones Beach Lifeguard Bitten In Water; No Shark Spotted, But Patrols Intensify On Long Island

“I take issue with his theory,” Spota said. “I really take issue with the fact that at least he could’ve consulted with the people who are investigating the case and the prosecutor who is assigned the case and tell them he has come up with a new theory.”
Dormer stuck by the serial killer theory in his earlier testimony before the panel.MORE NEWS: New York City Workers Must Be Vaccinated By Sept. 13 Or Face Weekly Testing, Mayor De Blasio Says
