Baby Jesus Stolen From Long Island Church's Nativity Scene

ROSLYN HARBOR, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island say a baby Jesus statue was stolen from a church in Roslyn Harbor.

According to detectives the baby Jesus was discovered missing from the Nativity scene in front of St. Mary's Church, located on 110 Bryant Avenue.

Authorities said the larceny occurred between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday morning.

Church officials are asking only for the safe return of the baby Jesus statue.
