B&C Morning Show: Sanchez Under Fire, Schotty Out, Giants Get Ready

When Jerry Recco began his first update of the morning, he did so by playing a cut of Mark Sanchez shortly after the Jets' season ending, 19-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

It was a telling piece of audio where Sanchez can be heard talking about the criticism sure to come his way following the Jets' 8-8 finish.  I'm sure Sanchez could have never imagined the shots being taken at him would be courtesy of his own teammates, which is being reported by the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta.

So that story combined with the news that Brian Schottenheimer is out as offensive coordinator made for a Jets heavy update courtesy of Jerry.  We heard audio of Craig from a few days back when he predicted that recently fired Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano would be the next Jets offensive coordinator, which appears to be coming to fruition.

The Jets also will be in the market for a new offensive line coach as Bill Callahan is leaving to take the same position with the Cowboys.

Moving right along to the Giants, they will face the Packers this Sunday @ 4:30 a game Jason Pierre-Paul is confident Big Blue will win.  After last Sunday's thrashing of the Falcons, the one they call JPP was feeling really confident, but when he joined Joe & Evan yesterday on the Mid-Day Show, he curbed his enthusiasm just a bit.

Aaron Ross should be good to go and Antrel Rolle was also a guest with Joe & Evan, and he expressed the utmost confidence in his rookie teammate Prince Amukamara.

A preview of Saturday night's Broncos-Pats  as we hear from Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, John Fox and Tim Tebow.  Jacksonville Jaguars hire Mike Mularkey as their new head coach, Raiders fire Hugh Jackson and Bills GM Buddy Nix asks for help from the assembled media.

Outside of the professional football world, Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin will leave Baylor early to enter the NFL Draft, the Knicks will host the Sixers and we hear Mike D'Antoni talkin' defense, at the Garden last night the Rangers grinded out a 2-1 OT win over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Plus, Islanders beat the Red Wings 5-1, Devils lost in Calgery 6-3 (will skate in Edmonton tonight), the Nets will play in Denver and Mets sign 40 year-old Miguel Bautista to a minor league contract...
