Drug Bust On Staten Island Nets 19

NEW YORk (CBSNewYork) -- A drug bust on Staten Island lands more than a dozen people behind bars.

Among the 19 people charged with turning the South Shore of the Island into a veritable supermarket for drugs, with everything from oxycodone pills to cocaine and LSD for sale, are Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority police officer Thomas Bianco and his wife, Jennifer.

Staten Island DA Daniel Donovan said they're out of business now.

"They were selling cocaine in front of their children. Thomas is a TBTA police officer who was arrested on the job yesterday morning and as a result of their criminal activity we seized their home because they were using their home as an instrumentality to sell their drugs out of," he told WCBS 880's Irene Cornell.

Authorities said the Biancos' arrests were based on thousands of dollars in sales of oxycodone to undercover investigators, including a sale made at one of their son's football games.
