Gotham Gossipist: Report: 'American Idol' To Lose Jennifer Lopez

By Kimberly Rae Miller

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- According to Forbes, our little Jenny from the Block (Castle Hill, to be specific) is the world's most powerful celebrity, moving up 50 spots this year on the 100-celeb list.

No doubt her seat at the 'American Idol' judges table helped her standing, but according to E! Online's Marc Malkin, Lopez is ditching the famed talent show after this season.

Lopez hasn't publicly announced her intent to leave Idol, but according to Malkin's sources she is just too busy to keep pitchy-singers begging for mercy.

It looks like Lopez is already booked for the rest of 2012, as she prepares to embark on a world tour with Enrique Iglesias, spending her summer Latin America and the  U.S., and hitting up the rest of the world this fall.

With Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul gone, Lopez was a major audience draw for the show and Fox may be willing to part with giant wads of cash to keep J.Lo  on board.  How much of a raise do you give a woman who already makes $20 million a season?

If Lopez leaves, who should fill her seat?
