NEW YORK (WFAN) -- In February, J.R. Smith announced via Twitter that he had picked the Knicks after a stint in China.

New York was expected to re-sign the free agent this offseason. When asked by a fan on Monday night to consider Los Angeles, Smith tweeted, "Sorry but im a ‪#KNICK‬!"

It was reported shortly afterward that Smith and the Knicks had agreed to a two-year deal. The guard again took to his Twitter account, retweeting various messages of congratulations.

"Congrats to my big brotha re~signing with the Knicks.. Love ya kid!!!" wrote former Louisville guard Chris Smith, J.R.'s younger brother and member of New York's summer league team.

"Thanks kid! Love you boss!" J.R. Smith responded.

Smith replied "Thanks luv!" to a fan who tweeted, "glad ur back!"

The Knicks also reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Rockets on Monday for Marcus Camby, and a deal to re-sign guard Steve Novak. The team is also expected to match Houston's offer for restricted free agent Jeremy Lin.
