Three firefighters, all hailing from Queens, visited The Couch on Tuesday. Mr. November, Rob Derrig, is from Ladder 133. Vinny Ruddy, from engine 295 is Mr. March. Mr. June is Jack Medina from Engine 279.

According to the poster boys, there wasn't much dieting or extra exercise done in preparation for the photo shoot.

"We all pretty much stay in shape all year round, we look like this all the time," said Derrig.

And besides being a fun, city tradition, the firefighters expressed the importance of the charity which benefits from calendar sales.

"The Foundation really focuses on fire prevention, getting the message out there to children. Much more than 'don't play with matches,'" Derrig said. "Candle safety, fire evacuation plans in the home. It also goes to training for us, to make us better at what we do."

The calendars can be purchased online at www.fdnyfirezone.org or www.fdnyfoundation.org.

Copies will also be sold at the FDNY Fire Zone store on West 51st Street in Midtown.

They cost $15.95.
