Holocaust Survivor Killed By Car In Williamsburg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A 93-year-old Holocaust survivor was killed Saturday night when an SUV backed into the woman and her daughter.

The New York Post reported that Gitzella Katz was walking with her daughter, 68-year-old Judy Fisher, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn when a Toyota Highlander that was parallel parking backed into them.

Police said the incident happened just before 10 p.m. near the Taylor-Wythe Houses in Brooklyn, where Katz lived.

Fisher was injured in the accident but was listed in stable condition, according to the Post.

The 26-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital with chest pains, the Post reported.

No criminal charges are expected in the accident.
