Prosecutors Say Brooklyn Man Ran Brothels In Midtown, Lower Manhattan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn man put a 21st-century spin on the world's oldest profession, advertising services for prostitutes online, according to authorities.

Prosecutors said William Thomas, 42, of Fort Greene ran several brothels, located on East 50th Street, East 58th Street, West 36th Street and Maiden Lane.

Thomas allegedly advertised the prostitute's services on websites e4anyc.com, which has been taken down, and e4akorea.com (site NSFW).

E4akorea.com calls itself "Your Midtown Korean Experience," and advertises "whipped cream week," along with pictures of a number of scantily clad or topless women posing suggestively. Next to some of the images are offers of a "$260 GFE," which is short for "girlfriend experience." The rates ran $200-$300 per hour for an encounter with the girls. A number of women on the site had links to online reviews by other customers.

According to the complaint, an undercover officer "arranged with Thomas for a session with one of the women advertised on the websites."

"When the [undercover officer] inquired what was meant in the website by GFE, the girlfriend experience, [Thomas] replied that no condom was needed," according to the complaint.

Just a few weeks ago the so-called "Upper East Side Madam" Anna Gristina, 45, agreed to a plea deal for promoting prostitution.
