Police Seek Suspect In Attempted Rape In Bed-Stuy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were asking the public to help solve an attempted rape in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

Around 1:20 a.m. Friday, a 21-year-old woman was walking toward her home in the neighborhood, when a suspect came up and started walking with her, police said.

The suspect then grabbed the victim and attempted to rape her, police said.

The victim screamed, and a passerby intervened, police said. The suspect fled.

The suspect, who was caught on surveillance video, is described as a black male in his 20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was clean-cut and wearing a black jacket, dark pants and a winter hat with draw strings.
