NYPD Officer Arrested On Shoplifting Charges In Midtown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York City police officer was arrested on shoplifting charges on Black Friday.

Officer Jenny Mendez, 28, was arrested in the Midtown South Precinct Friday and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Mendez, of the Midtown North Precinct, allegedly stole clothes from a Midtown Manhattan store, according to the New York Post. Further details were not released.

Mendez has been suspended without pay, the Post reported.
