Bail Granted To Woman In West Village Explosives Case

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Morgan Gliedman, the pale pony-tailed new mom with a heroin habit was arraigned on a weapons possession charge and released on bail Tuesday.

She and her boyfriend were arrested in December when police found a container of the powerful explosive HMTD in their living room. Three buildings were evacuated as a result.

She's the daughter of a prominent New York City oncologist and got herself a top notch lawyer in Gerald Shargel and he got her what he described as a long-negotiated bail package.

While her boyfriend, Aaron Greene, was locked up without bail for storing weapons and a powerful explosive powder in their West Village apartment, the young woman, who gave birth to a daughter on the day of her arrest is free on $150,000 bond combined with electronic monitoring.

She has also been ordered to enter a 30-day drug rehab program.
