NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — City Council speaker and mayoral hopeful Christine Quinn unveiled a new look this week and the updated style has a lot of New Yorkers buzzing.

“At first glance, I didn’t realize it was her,” celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch told the New York Post.

A Quinnipiac University poll released last week found Quinn would win the Democratic mayoral primary and then beat Republican mayoral candidate and former MTA chairman Joseph Lhota in the general election.
Other contenders in the Democratic field include New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, who announced his candidacy for mayor on Sunday.
