CBS 2 Anchor Rob Morrison Arrested After Allegedly Fighting With Wife

UPDATE: Feb. 19, 2013 4:04 p.m.

DARIEN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) --  CBS 2 morning news anchor Rob Morrison was arrested over the weekend in Connecticut.

Morrison was taken into custody after allegedly fighting with his wife, CBS MoneyWatch reporter Ashley Morrison. It happened early Sunday morning at their home in Darien.

Morrison is accused of choking her and faces charges of second degree strangulation, second degree threatening and disorderly conduct.

Police said Ashley Morrison did not need any medical treatment, but had red marks on her neck.

The Morrisons put out a statement Monday afternoon, saying they are cooperating with police and are confident a full investigation will show the allegations have been "greatly exaggerated."

On Tuesday afternoon, Morrison did not enter a plea at his arraignment. The judge issued a court order of protection with the exception of their workplace.

Morrison is not permitted to return to his home except to get his belongings with a police escort.  Morrison must also stay 100 yards away from his wife and is not permitted to have direct contact with her.

That order will remain in effect indefinitely.

Another hearing is scheduled for March 26.
