Feds: Child Porn Suspect Believed To Be In New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Federal officials are searching for a child porn suspect who is believed to be living in New Jersey.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations unit is looking for 30-year-old Fredy Marcelo Arbito. He's a naturalized U.S. citizen from Ecuador whose last known address was in Hightstown.

Authorities announced Tuesday that Arbito is wanted for possession of child porn. They say he allegedly duped at least one young victim into producing sexually explicit videos and images on the internet.

Officials say Arbito befriended the victim online by pretending to be a young girl. They say he then threatened to make the videos and images public if the victim didn't continue to engage in further sexually explicit conduct over video chat.

Anyone with any information on Arbito's whereabouts is asked to contact HSI immediately, in one of two ways:

  • Call the HSI Tip Line at 1-866-347-2423; or
  • Submit a tip online at www.ICE.gov/tips.
