NJ Native Pens Humorous Book About Growing Up Irish

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, a local author is out with a humorous book about being Irish.

Mike Farragher penned a follow-up book titled, "This Is Your Brain On Shamrocks 2: Fifty Shades O'Green.'"

The title is a take on the popular "Fifty Shades Of Grey" series about sex and an adult relationship.

Farragher stopped by on St. Patrick's Day to chat with CBS 2's Dick Brennan about the book and about being Irish and Catholic.

"There's a short story that's inspired by '50 Shades Of Grey' and the second thing is, again, just a continuation of those funny essays about growing up Irish and Catholic and guilty," Farragher told Brennan.

Farragher, a New Jersey native, said the book also helps keep his family's memory and story alive.

The book features a collection of humorous short stories.
