Couple Accused Of Trying To Set Up Day Care To Drug, Molest Children

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities said a Brooklyn couple set out to open a babysitting business where they would drug and molest the children in their care.

As 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr reported, Bebars Baslan, 35, and Kristen Henry, 25, of Midwood, Brooklyn, were charged Wednesday with aggravated sexual abuse of children, according to a complaint.

Baslan and Henry apparently went to a Jersey City hotel, thinking they would meet three children there, including a 3-month-old.

Instead, they were arrested by the FBI and NYPD.

Earlier, the FBI said it had recorded conversations, including one in which Henry allegedly said she worked with schools and had worked as a babysitter since she was a teenager, so she had lots of references.

She also allegedly said she had thought of different scenarios before, but had never acted on them.

In another tape, Baslan allegedly said his girlfriend could sexually abuse a baby while changing him or her, and the baby would never even know it.

Before going to the hotel where they ended up getting arrested, Henry allegedly handed the informant Benadryl, an anti-allergy medication that can make children sleepy.
