NYPD: N.C. Man Left Loaded Pistol In Hotel Lobby
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The New York Police Department says it has found the man who left a loaded pistol in a hotel lobby.
On April 14, the man was spotted walking into the lobby of the World Center Hotel on Washington Street. The man produced a loaded pistol and stuffed it into the cushion of a chair in the lobby, police said. The man then left.
Bobby Jackson of Fayetteville, N.C. has been charged with criminal possession of a loaded weapon and reckless endangerment.
Jackson will return to New York next week to face the charges.
According to a published report, Jackson was hurrying to rejoin a tourist group headed to the 9/11 memorial, where weapons are forbidden.
In 2011, a woman from Tennessee was arrested for bringing a pistol to the memorial.
