Giants Add Moore In Third Round To Aid Pass Rush
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have taken Texas A&M defensive end Damontre Moore in the third round of the NFL draft. They're hoping he'll become a key pass rusher.
Earlier the Giants started addressing their problems on defense by taking Ohio State tackle Jonathan Hankins. New York ranked 31st on defense last season, giving up 129.1 yards rushing.
Moore played the same joker position at Texas A&M that Von Miller, who has been one of the league's top defensive players since joining the Denver Broncos, played for the Aggies. The position is a combination rush linebacker and defensive end.
Moore had 26 ½ sacks in three seasons with the Aggies.
