Five People Struck In Separate Bronx Car Accidents

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Two accidents in the Bronx have left at least five people hurt, including two children.

At around 2:45 p.m., two children were struck in the Soundview section. The accident took place at Westchester and Morrison Avenues. The children, aged 9 and 11, were taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.

At around 3 p.m., three people were hit at Grand Concourse near East 172nd Street. Two women, 20 and 28, were taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital in critical condition. The third woman, 50, is in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the three women is in custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
