Last Day Of Great GoogaMooga Festival Called Off For Rain
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The last day of the Great GogoaMoooga Festival in Prospect Park was canceled Sunday, as light, but persistent rain drenched the area.
"Due to poor weather, the New York City Parks Department, Prospect Park Alliance, and GoogaMooga have decided to cancel today's festivities in the interest of safety and prevention of damage to the park grounds," the festival Web site said.
The site said all VIP ticket purchases will be refunded in full.
De La Soul, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Cults, the Soul Rebels, Delicate Steve, M.A.K.U. Sound System, the Hot Sardines, and Marcelle Davies Lashley were on the roster for Sunday.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Flaming Lips appeared on Friday.
The festival also featured culinary masters and offerings from top-notch bars, including Dead Rabbit, PDT, Clover Club, Nomad, Death and Co., Dutch Kills and Pegu Club.
This was the second annual festival.
