6 Special Needs Students Injured In Newark School Bus Crash

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Six special needs students were hospitalized Monday after a school bus and another vehicle collided in Newark.

The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. in the 200 block of Chadwick Avenue, police told the Star-Ledger.

Authorities said the students were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

It was not clear where the bus was headed when the accident occurred.

Specific details on the injuries the students suffered were not disclosed, but police said the injuries are not considered serious.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation Monday evening.
