Girl Taken From Queens Found, Father Arrested In Memphis

MEMPHIS (CBSNewYork) -- A 4-year-old girl was found safe Sunday in Memphis, after being taken by her biological father two days earlier in Queens.

Giovanna Beck was found and in good condition Sunday, police said. Her non-custodial father – Michael Beck, 28 -- was taken into the custody of Memphis police, and was awaiting extradition back to New York State, police said.

Around 2 p.m. Friday, Giovanna was with her father and mother at the Dunkin' Donuts at 83-04 Astoria Blvd. in Queens, when Michael Beck asked if he could go to the car and give his daughter a present.

He then took Giovanna and sped off in a white Chevrolet HHR car driven by an unknown woman.

The woman driver who was with Giovanna and her father was not in custody as of Sunday, and the investigation continued, police said.
