Police Search For Suspect In Staten Island Sexual Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were asking for assistance from the public in finding a suspect in a sexual assault last week on Staten Island.

The attack happened around 2 a.m. this past Wednesday in front of 15 Church St., in the Elm Park section of Staten Island.

The man approached the 44-year-old victim, took her to a secluded location, and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Police have released photos of the suspect, whom they described as being in his 30s.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers Web site, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
