Corey Webster Will Not Play Sunday Against Panthers

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A day after being listed as doubtful, New York Giants announced on Saturday that cornerback Corey Webster will not play in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Giants downgraded Webster because of a hip injury. He will not make the trip to Charlotte, N.C.

Veteran Aaron Ross is expected to play for Webster, who had started the last 34 games.

Ross, who played in Jacksonville last season, has not started a game for the Giants since the Super Bowl in February 2012. He did not play a down on defense in the Giants' 41-23 loss to the Broncos last Sunday.

Both Carolina and New York are 0-2.
