NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Bedbugs have infested a New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene office building in Long Island City, Queens, according to a published report.
The bug colonies were found on the 11th floor of the building after multiple complaints of sightings in recent weeks, according to a New York Daily News report. Sources said bedbugs have been occupying the building for several weeks, the newspaper reported.

Employees told the paper they were given a bedbug information pamphlet that is published by the department for the public, and advised to clean their work areas and put their personal items into plastic bags.
