Boy, 12, Struck And Killed By Van Near Prospect Park
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 12-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle late Tuesday afternoon near Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
Around 5:15 p.m., police were called to Prospect Park West and 3rd Street in Park Slope, where they found the boy lying at the scene with trauma to his torso.
He had run into the street and was hit by a white 2006 Chevrolet van that was headed south on Prospect Park west, police said.
The boy was pronounced dead at New York Methodist Hospital, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and was not arrested or ticketed.
