Jets' Santonio Holmes Says Media Is Negatively Affecting His Recovery
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes is especially frustrated these days.
After playing in just four games in 2012, Gang Green's top receiver has missed the last two games with a severe hamstring pull.
It's doubtful that he'll play in Sunday's crucial game against the division-rival Patriots at MetLife Stadium.
During his weekly news conference on Thursday, the 29-year-old was in no mood to speak to reporters, and he even went so far as to blame them for interrupting his rehab.
Players, of course, are required by the NFL to speak with the media. But that didn't stop him from calling reporters out.
"How am I feeling right now? Like you guys are interrupting my treatment time right now," Holmes said.
He was later asked if answering reporters' questions is negatively affecting the progress that he's making to return to the football field, and he was quite blunt in his response.
"I was just on the rehab table and I had to get taken off the table to come do interviews, so yes I do," he said.
The veteran hasn't practiced in three weeks, and he didn't offer any insight into how he's coming along.
In four games this season, Holmes has 10 catches for 243 yards and a touchdown.
